Good news for animation buffs! Pokemon, Snoopy, Kumamon, Boonie Bears, Super Wings... Large numbers of cartoon icons are going to gather in Guangdong's Dongguan!
From July 20 to 23, the 13th China International Animation Copyright Fair will be held at Guangdong Modern International Exhibition Centre, Houjie Town, Dongguan, according to a press conference on July 12. More than 500 exhibitors from over 40 countries and regions including the US, France, Germany, and Canada will participate in the Fair online and offline.

Covering an area of 20,800 square meters, the Fair will display more than 1,500 IPs of animation and art toys from home and abroad as well as over 10,000 related products. Visitors will see exhibits from Russia, Italy, Malaysia and so on at the international exhibition area. You will also be immersed in the animation world via VR, AR, and digital human at the metaverse exhibition area.
Meanwhile, four high-end forums will be held during the Fair, inviting American film director and animator Daniel St. Pierre, Cai Zhijun, executive vice president of China Animation Association, as well as other famous directors and producers to discuss new trends in the animation industry.

It's introduced that the public can enjoy colorful events during the four-day carnival. A China-chic fashion show, dance performances Night Banquet in Tang Dynasty Palace and Dunhuang dance, cosplay (costume play) experience, and other interaction activities will take visitors back to the ancient days. Furthermore, more than 30 new films of Super Wings, Boonie Bears and other series will make their debut, and over 20 brands of art toys will see their new product launches as well.

In addition to this Fair, Dongguan will prepare various animation-related events during the summer holiday across the city, such as exhibitions, concerts, camping festivals, and bazaars.
Dongguan is the largest toy-exporting city in China, and Bing Dwen Dwen, the mascot of the Beijing Winter Olympics, and La'eeb, the mascot of the FIFA World Cup 2022, were produced there. Established in 2009 in Dongguan, the Fair has attracted over 4,500 domestic and foreign animation enterprises in the past 12 sessions, with a turnover exceeding 25 billion RMB. It has grown into one of the most influential professional platforms for copyright trading in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
