Guangdong Province in Southern China hosted a National Day reception on September 29, welcoming diplomats, business leaders, and experts from around the world.

Many of the guests have lived in Guangdong for years or have been closely involved with the region.

South asked them to share their first "Wow, this is China" moment, the one thing they can't live without in daily life, the gift they would take home for friends, and the goal or area of cooperation in China they are most excited about over the next five years.

Their responses painted a vivid picture of life in China through personal stories and unique insights.
